Comparing King of the Blues with American Idol.

As we are all aware, there has not been a King of the Blues contest for a few years, and there is no plans on having one any time soon. Each year though American Idol gets millions of voters every week calling in and voting for their favorite vocalist. After my experiences with KOTB and American Idol, there are some similarities and many differences!
Follow up:
Having a contest to find the best of anything has been a staple of mankind for years. From the first Olympics in Greece to the Chocolate Rain Remix Contest, there is a nature in mankind to be better than everyone else. KOTB is no different; each guitarist came with their best licks, and with that, thinking you are the best, means that everyone else is the worst! Fighting through each store competition until you are at the finals and taking home the grand prize with different judges at every store judging you differently.
American Idol in comparison has the same 4 judges each week, and once the final 12 or so contestants are picked, it is no longer a talent contest. The most popular contestant goes through each week. A winning singer could sing like a cat that just got shaved by electrolysis!
So I don’t really care for American Idol or for how KOTB was done they are just subjective contests. In the end the best singer or musician is usually left undiscovered at some silly taco place spitting in customers food.
