For those of you who were a part of the 2007 GC KOTB contest, you may remember the neat little packet of information that you got once you signed up for the comp. In fine print on the bottom of the page was a little statement talking about how GC was looking for community as well as hold a competition. Even though this was a great idea, it finally backfired on GC and their holding company.

After the KOTB store and regional finals were completed, KOTB announced that there was going to be an online competition for a chance to win a trip to the finals. The original backing tracks for the store competition were made available for This contest started in May of 07, and by the 14th there were 29 entries into the contest. Over the next 16 days a total of 76 entries were submitted and star rated from 1 to 5 stars. Thousands of ratings were done over the course of the contest, with the most slamming in the last few hours of the contest. The server became so over loaded at the end of the contest, those who were looking to upload their songs did not get to because of sql overload.

Users who at one point had the top spot in the competition were Alleyblues, Dad, HOO_DOO (our very own), L5CES Player (yeah!), Head Cutter, Scooter D (Cool), mystman, myself and EZ_BLUES.
