After the online contest was completed, KOTB decided to give away a few guitars. I believe one was an SG and I couldn’t be 100% sure what the other one was.

Follow up:

This only led to the creation of several thousand fake profiles and no announcements. During this time, myself and at least 2 other users were asked to become moderators of the KOTB site. I was told for months that I would be assisting Filmore Blues in assisting keeping the site together and calm.

During the next few months, I was told repeatedly that there was going to be a KOTB contest in 08 by the moderator of KOTB as well as that they were looking at a few choice people to be mods of the site to keep things together. Between The finals of KOTB 07 and Feb of 08, the site turned very quiet, with the most exciting topics including the funny band names, and of course, who could forget, POST HERE FOR POINTS.

Post here was one of my favorite laughs about KOTB. In no time at all, one could create several hundred pages of posts, and none was better than our own Jonny. I believe there was 5000 pages in the post here topic before the end. This exploit of the KOTB code was interestingly one of the reasons that KOTB was going to have to go. The KOTB posts never got deleted, as do in some forums (ours will be after a set # size of the database)

By the end of March, the talk was getting almost crazy about if there was or wasn’t going to be a KOTB for the next year. There were posts that stated that store managers were talking about when it was, but most of it was just BS talk, as we eventually found out KOTB 08 was nothing more than an Area 51 hoax.
