Blame Someone Else Day

Today is blame someone else day. So take a little time to do something horrible and blame someone else.

Now, don’t take this as me condoning you to do something wrong, I actually think that today’s holiday is one of the lamest on the stupid holiday list. This holiday takes us down that road that we go down way to frequently, is lack of responsibility.
I was recently at the grocery store stocking up and saw a mother with two kids, they looked like they were about 8 and 11. These kids were running up and down the aisles and ran into me once and my cart once. In this day and age, you just can’t scold someone else’s kids, but I gave these kids a look like “what are you doing?”
Not 2 minutes later, off the shelf came 3 jars of spaghetti sauce. It looked like a small crime scene with red everywhere. What happened next just really set me off. The mother just took her cart oblivious to everything just drove her cart through the mess and just walked on by. I stopped and asked the lady “Aren’t you going to at least tell someone to clean up the mess?” In about 2 seconds I realized why these kids were out of control. The mother told me two words that rhymed with Duck Sue…
Recently at a Guitar Center in Madison, WI, I saw a similar incident. A young lad just dropped a guitar about 4 feet. Everyone just looked the other way like nothing happened. Who is going to take responsibility?
When our society takes the road of loss of integrity we set ourselves down a slippery slope.
Does not the Bart Simpson Rap “I Didn’t do it” just sum up our societies lack of responsibility?
