The NEW PRS-SE what did I get myself into (part 1)

I have been waiting for some time to get a good deal on a guitar with p-90’s. For those who may not know The P-90 is a single coil electric guitar pickup first produced by Gibson since 1946. Having a more complex architecture and larger dimensions than Fender's single coils, it is occasionally mistaken for a humbucker. According to the Gibson website, "the lean and mean P-90 offers a stellar combination of high output and biting treble response." They give a tone that is not a single coil, and not a humbucker. So they can be noisy. Enough background already!
Follow up:
Guitar Center has a sale pretty much every holiday except Christmas and New Years Day. They have equipment that they have been trying to sell or that has been dinged up by the shred on our guitars until you can’t shred anymore policy. So my oldest daughter and I went down to the GC to see what we could get. I had 2 things that I kind of needed to get. #1 was a new gig bag for my youngest. She is bringing guitars to school all the time and her gig bags are going to get shredded the way she keeps em. A gig bag is cheaper than a guitar. I was also looking for a pickup for my wife’s Martin D-12.
Usually these events are well attended and there is a line when the store opens. Today there was 4 people in line when the store opened. One guy was obviously a repair guy and he pulled a few Gibson Les Pauls off the wall and had them set aside. The knob missing LP studio black that was new was going for $699.
On display was a case for an OLP doubleneck guitar.. I got rid of my OLP double neck that I bought from this GC because I couldn’t find a case….
After walking around for awhile I saw sitting in a corner, this guitar. I could tell it had been played a little, but not taken and beaten (shaken not stirred)

I plugged it in and played it, and it had a good tone, but I could tell it needed a setup help, or rescue if you might say. The electronics were fine and without any problems, so I decided to but it. It came in under $275 with the $50 gigbag that I was going to buy anyway! So it was like getting the guitar for $225. When I got this baby home is when I realized that this guitar was in need of some serious help and help she needed. Lots of help she needed.....
