Stage II of the PRS SE setup. The takedown of the present crap and a better set up!

Now that I had deciphered what was wrong, the next phase was to fix it!
The guitar was set up with a set of rusted 9’s that had so much rust, the rust was collecting on the neck. The first thing I did was take all of the strings off and clean the fretboard with Ernie Ball fretboard conditioner. These easy to use wipes are like a baby wipe impregnated with orange oil.
Follow up:

The rust came off the fretboard easily and the previously dusty looking fretboard came to life pretty easily.
The next thing I did was take off the truss rod cover. The truss rod is not a standard truss, it is a Gibson style, but not a 5/16, a little smaller than a Gibson truss. So, I had to find the right tool to do the truss rod adjustment. I set it up with a set of DR strings (11-50’s) for a beefy tone, put the bridge back in place, tweaked the truss rod ½ turn before everything just lined up real sweet.
Here is a picture of what the bridge piece looks like back in alignment -

I put the white blob so you can see that the bridge is a little tilted still, but not so far out of whack.
Overall for a guitar for about $225 a lot of work went into it to make it playable, but I think I will like it. I have played several PRS guitars and have never found one that I like. I like the tone of this but the balance is something to get a little used to at this point. The p-90 thing is still a little unsettled, and I am not totally used to it yet. Even if I do not like this guitar, it should be pretty easy to turn around and get my money and time out of her. She made for a very nice Memorial day and evening project!
