VST is a plug in type that can be used as a plug in for most recording programs. Today I just give you a few links to get some interesting VST stuff, and it is all free.

This is a group of neat synths, some ambient noise generators and things. Updated fairly regularly

VST Plug in lists, http://www.free-plugin-list.com/
This site lists both synths and effects and sometimes it is a little difficult browsing through all of them. Most of these are fee also, but it is confusing what VST does what

http://www.vst4free.com/ VST for free is set up really nice and there are some great undiscovered free plug ins. I have found some great plug ins here and they link to http://www.freevstfx.com/ which have some great free VST effects.

The last one I will list is http://www.sadglad.com/freevstplugins6.html, which has a ton listed, but the navigation is mildly confusing.

you can use SAVIHOST http://www.hermannseib.com/savihost.htm to use any VST as a stand alone application.
