Wrapping up the search for the ultimate overdrive, conclusion

Although my search will always continue for the ultimate overdrive and distortion pedal, I will discuss today the Overdrive and Distortion pedals that I have kept and found a home for on my pedal boards.
The one effect that I have that I base the rest of my distortion pedals is the Keeley Mod DS-1. The mod takes the harshness out while adding more harmonics. This pedal has a moderate amount of distortion available to it and has 2 different clipping modes. A very versatile pedal and one that I would like to secure a backup for at some point in the near future.
Follow up:
Other pedals that I continue to have on my pedal board (that I have not covered previously)
Boss Metal Zone - This pedal may be getting replaced by the HM-3 that I reviewed. I use this pedal for searing leads but I do not like the rhythm tones that I get from it. It is a very scooped heavy distortion.
Visual Sound Route 66 - This pedal is basically 1/2 of of the double trouble. I use the compressor and the TS-808 as adjuncts on my acoustic pedal board. It was designed for more of a country or country rock application and suits my acoustic playing style very nicely.
Visual Sound Jekyl and Hyde. This pedal is the TS side of the Double Trouble and a filter distortion (ala pro co rat) with some needed modifications. The TS-808 side gets used quite frequently and with both sides kicked in there is some serious gain available. I have an older version before the addition of the new switches. I prefer to hear a click when I switch a pedal in though...
Visual Sound Angry Fuzz. This is a cool fuzz with an octave up ability. I am not a real huge fan of fuzztone, but with the octave up this is a neat effect. The octave up is controllable and more pronounced than the Roger Meyer Octavia. It is a good special effects fuzz.
Danelectro V2 transparent OD. This is probably one of the only Danelectro Pedals that will permanently grace my pedal board. I have it on my clean amp setup to give a little boost with a little change in the characteristics of the tone. It does that very very well.
I hope that you have enjoyed these quick reviews of distortion pedals that I have owned in search of the ultimate overdrive.
