Pedals by tone overdrive part 2
By KenBJammen on Jun 25, 2010 | In Reviews
Two days after ordering the pedal, it was right there on my doorstep. The pedal was packaged better than I would expect a Faberge egg packed. It was marked fragile everywhere! I wondered if I got the wrong package.
Well I opened up the package and found a well packed pedal double packed.

This is a real pretty pedal. The first thing I noticed it that this thing is LIGHT! Most boutique pedals this size have a little bit of weight to them. This was lighter even than a stock Boss pedal. This pedal is #7 (the seventh one made) in this style of pedals.
Follow up:
I opened the pedal up to see what was inside and to check to see if it shipped with a battery. This is what I saw when I removed the screw covers.

The only thing I noted with the construction is the LONG cable for the battery. Here is picture of the battery cable pulled to the side.
Now I am not a fan of using batteries, but according to what I can tell, the FET uses very little battery power and the battery should last 20-30 hours of play time (based on the level/drive the pedal is set at and the almost non existent pull a FET preamp pulls). I pulled the battery anyway and the tone samples that I will be posting later. The battery cord looks like it is something that could be a potential long life problem if it is not cared for properly. The long cord just seems like it could easily get pulled out, or screwed in the side of the casing when you put the back plate back on. This is the first effect I have seen with a long battery cord. I kind of know I am rambling, but this is the first thing about this pedal that I really don't like. I would recommend that you power this by an adapter to avoid problems with the battery cord.
Well, inside or out does not matter if the pedal does not perform as expected. I hate to make you all wait till next week for the final chapter(s) of this review, but I am going to make you wait! There will be several clips of this pedal through different tube amplifiers.
