I am very aware of road construction. I notice that the main highway that I take to get to Guitar Center is under construction. I will have to take back roads to get to the BOTB (FKA KOT competition. I will have to plan an additional 30 minutes or so of road time...

Guitar Center's annual Drum-Off, the nationwide search for the next great undiscovered drummer is back! Starting Monday, drummers from across the country can sign-up at any of Guitar Center’s 220 stores for the chance to participate in the world’s largest drum competition, vying for thousands of dollars in prizes and the coveted title of Guitar Center’s Drum-Off Champion. The grand prize package, valued at nearly $50,000, includes $25,000 cash, a custom drum kit, complete set of cymbals and drumheads, endorsement deals, a Roland TD-20SX electronic kit, Audix DP7 drum mic pack, $500 Converse gift card, 2012 NAMM VIP experience, a trip to New York to record at the Converse Rubber Tracks Studio and more. Be sure to check out the rest of the site for details. *New to this year's Drum-Off competition kit is the Roland SPD-30 that can only be played in patch mode. If you attempt to use it in the phrase loop recording or background loop mode you will be disqualified. This is an optional piece. It's not required that you incorporate it into your performance. Congrats to this year's KOTB Regional Winners... Jonathon Long (LA), Charles Longoria (TX), Predrag Petrovic (IL), Rami Halperin (WA), & Pinecone Fletcher (NY). These fine gents will be opening up for Warren Haynes at the Finals on Thurs., Sept. 1st at the House of Blues in Hollywood. A tip of the hat to all of the players from this year! Keep digging into the blues... lot of different styles and talent out there!
