Title: Fender Banjo
Post by: DannyDV8 on March 05, 2015, 04:57:30 PM
I got a killer deal on a Fender FB-5 5 string banjo a couple of weeks ago.  I can't figure out how to post any pictures of it, so you're going to have to take me at my word, it's a banjo alright!  I've been learning some roll patterns and can already play some songs on it.  Earl Scruggs I ain't.

What's the difference between a banjo and a trampoline?  You take your shoes off to jump on a trampoline.

When I was 14/15 my parents got me a banjo for Christmas.  I had been playing guitar for awhile.  Part of my Dad's campaign to sway me towards country music.  Playing banjo was fun.  I could play a handful of songs on it.  Never quite got comfortable with fingerpicks.

When I was a teenager I used fingerpicks a lot, no problem.  The last time I tried to use them they felt like bear traps.  I've  just been playing the thing au natural.  I'll probably dig them out and give it another shot this weekend.
