Title: Strings and Beyond 15% storewide sale today (April1)
Post by: RichR on April 01, 2013, 03:15:48 PM
Strings and beyond, www.stringsandbeyond.com (http://www.stringsandbeyond.com) has 15% off everything in the store.  About as good as it gets; time to stock up.

They have other specials and promotions, but those always involve some other string that I don't use.

Don't know if sale will go on beyond today.  He seems to extend sales promotions.

i just get my thomastiks at the local store, better price than sab.  rich, don't ever try the power brights or the blues sliders, as you will not play another string and they are pricey. otoh, i still have the same set on my g&l i had on at the last kotb, and it still sounds new. i have also never broken a thomastik string.

I'm in austerity mode for awhile, so no new expensive string habit for me right now.   O:-)

Strings and Beyond have the Blues Sliders for 16.95.   Not outside the realm of possibility, though...

But austerity mode.  A little commonsense belt tightening round here.  My wife's job ended at the start of the year.   The business she worked for was bought, and her marketing/office manager type functions are going to be done by a med-office management company.   I may have a little financial haircut due to the fed sequester drama.   May have some unpaid furlough time, before the year is out.

I've used Strings & Beyond before...good service and you can catch some decent sales. I stocked up when I found a guy on eBay that was selling off his inventory. He had a small, mom & pop store and was closing down. I bought all the nickel rockers 11's he had left. Ended up being less than $3 per set.
NR's have become my go-to strings. A good compromise between the cheapies and the higher end pricey stuff.
