Working on my jazz a bit
« on: January 04, 2014, 12:30:26 AM »
Been working on this gypsy jazz thing for a while now. I'm a slow learner. Anyway, I have the first couple choruses of "I'll See You In My Dreams" down okay and figured I'd post, since it's been a while since I've uploaded anything guitar related.

You'll notice the camera jump around a couple of times, especially on that center lead track video. That's because I suck and had to do multiple takes, then piece together the parts that sounded okay. lol

I'll See You In My Dreams - Manouche (gypsy jazz)

COOL!  Every time I hear that tune I think of Sean Penn as Emmet Ray in the movie "Sweet And Lowdown"!   :yay!:
They call it the Blues, but the shit makes me SMILE!

nice!  love Django. Last week I picked up a blue note "best of" that has a great version of this tune.

I've been really getting into Hank Garland the past few months...his early stuff is Western Swing with a lot of Django in there...his later stuff is more of a Wes vibe. Amazing player.
