B.B. KING
« on: May 15, 2015, 12:34:05 PM »
As I'm sure you've already heard, B.B. King passed away at the age of 89 at his home in Las Vegas Nevada.  There's nothing more to be said.  Anything you can say about him has been said innumerable times, and rightfully so.  Long live the King.

Does anyone ever read these things.  I have some guitars, some amps and some effects but none of them play the guitar for me.... Yet.

RIP, BB.  Glad to see him get his rest.  I think his last year or two have been pretty rough.

Im sure the past few years they have been dragging him around just to shake the last few bucks from him.

RIP

89 is a pretty good run, and he got to be KOTB, just about everybody that's any damned good cited him as an influence, and he had a three3 piece suit to boot!  He was gigging up until the last two weeks of his life, which for the most part would seem to have been a good one.  Just the same, the world is a poorer place without him. Let us endeavor to live our lives in such a way that when it comes our time to die even the undertaker has to cry.

He had 335s, 355s, and the custom B.B. King Lucille that the Gibson factory made for him.  He called them all Lucille.

Wonder if the original Lucille still exist? The one he went back into the burning building to save.

He probably still had that one, although I don't really know what kind of an axe it was.

I just read an article in which he stated the original was stolen from the trunk of his car in Brooklyn.

BB said who ever has it probably doesn't know what they have because his name was not on the guitar.
